Rowing on the Nile
Rowing is the heart of what we do at Row Crew Academy. You'll be in a crew boat on the Nile in Giza with a coach beside you, learning the stroke from scratch or sharpening one you already have.
Sessions run most mornings from 6 AM, before the city and the river get busy, and again through the afternoon. Everything is provided — boat, oars, coaching — so you bring clothes you don't mind getting wet and a change for afterwards.
Complete beginners are the normal case here rather than the exception. Most of our members had never touched an oar before their first session, and several of our coaches have raced for Egypt.
We're on the Nile at the Police Rowing Club on Nile Street, directly opposite the Sheraton Cairo Hotel — central enough to reach from anywhere in Cairo or Giza.

Common questions
Do I need any experience to try rowing?
No. Most people who come to us have never rowed before. A coach is with you the whole session and you'll be moving on the water on day one.
What should I bring?
Clothes you don't mind getting wet, a change of clothes, and water. Boats, oars and coaching are all included in the session price.
How far in advance do I book?
Rowing for the next day closes at 9 PM the night before, so we can plan the boats and crews. Later dates are open any time.
Where do rowing sessions take place?
On the Nile at the Police Rowing Club on Nile Street in Giza, opposite the Sheraton Cairo Hotel.
